Doctoral Thesis 1945 sonrası solo viyola eserlerine yönelik gelişkin teknikler ve icra yöntemleri(2022) Baydar, Tuğçe; Özer, Mehmet CanIn this study, the trends in music after 1945 and the factors which had led to those have been analyzed and The emergence and development of extended techniques are explained with examples that facilitate the execution process. In the first part of this three-section study, the main stream trends are explored through iconic composers and their works. The evolution of serialism through up to 1945, composers censored or forced to leave Europe because of the Third Reich, the effects that World War 2 created on Music world have been summarized.. Instutionalization of music after the 2nd World War both in Europe and America and the various music trends experimented by composers are explained. Emergence of electronic music, the new trends emerging after the composers experiment the peaks of serialism and inclination back to the tonality are exemplified. The pinnacle of modern viola technique and their various execution methods are explained. In the second part, extended techniques are visually explained by using photographic illustrations. In the third part, in line with viola works after 1945 examples from passages from the repertoire which include common extended techniques are shown along with suggested exercises to provide a guideline for execution
