    Master Thesis
İlaç tedarik zincirinde işbirliği ve topluluk zihniyeti: Bir durumsal aracılık modeli
    (2024) Dirlik, Cansu; Can, Özge
The pharmaceutical supply chain (PSC) and its management aim to serve patients by progressing with more demanding work and control mechanisms, with its sensitive and critical structure that has internalized public health and human life as its primary duty. This complex structure can create some risky situations and invites cooperation among pharmaceutical supply chain elements. This study aims to investigate whether collaboration among PSC members increases PSC performance, and whether this impact is shaped by building a community mindset as a mediating mechanism. Survey data was collected from 159 PSC members in Izmir, Turkiye. The structural equation modeling results show that, as expected, collaboration enhances the community mindset within PSC, which in turn, leads to stronger performance. It was also found that the impact of collaboration on community mindset is moderated by perceived supply chain complexity. These findings support the idea that strong collaborative harmony between supply chain members, working with accurate information flow and a common concern creates a community mindset. Thus, the targeted supply chain performance levels can be achieved. Moreover, the complex structure and dynamism of the industry can make it challenging to adopt such an approach. This study sheds new light on the role of collaboration in supply chains, which should be supported by shared values, norms, and principles around concern for stakeholders and society.
