    The main purpose of the thesis is to create an index in order to meausre corporate social responsibility with objective data and to explain the relationship between corporate social repsonsibility and firm performance. According to the purpose, annual reports of manufacturer firms of Borsa İstanbul are used as main data which are categorized and CSR points calculated in respect to Corporate Social Responsibility Association of Turkey index. In order to analyze the relationship between corporate social responsibility and firm performance, correlation and regression analyzes are used in terms of different samples. Dividend yield, total debt rate and corporate social responsibility rate which is calculated by mentioned index are independent variables of the research model. On the other hand annual return on equity and market to book value ratio are dependent variables. As a result, corporate governance decisions have positive and sigfinicant effects to firm performance especially for the businesses involved in corporate governance index.
