    In Turkey, the president of the republic was elected by the popular vote for the first time. The president to be elected by the public has led to many innovations. One of the most important of these innovations is the organization of election campaigns where presidential candidates confront voters. The present study has been carried on the purpose of revealing the political communication activities and strategies of the candidates during the 10 August 2014 Presidential Elections. The TV, press, social media commercials, presentation of the candidates to the public, public relations activities and election bulletins were analyzed in order to determine the communication strategies of the candidates. In this thesis study, the political communication and political campaign concepts were explained and the election campaigns of the candidates participating in the 10 August 2014 Presidential Elections were analyzed. The campaign activities carried out in the written and visual media were revealed in general terms. An analysis based on content analysis was conducted in the research. The primary purpose of this analysis was to determine 'how and how long' the presidential candidates took part in the written and visual media organs during the electoral process and to open the role of the media in molding public opinion up for discussion. In this discussion, the subjects of 'power and media', which are discussed by the public from time to time on the basis of the findings obtained with the quantitative and qualitative measurements of the news about the candidates, were analyzed comparatively and some evaluations were made in terms of the results obtained. The data used in the analysis section of this study were obtained from the numeric data of the research performed by Medya Takip Merkezi (Media Monitoring Center) for Wall Street Journal Turkey, which includes the representations of the presidential candidates in the media.
