Article Artistic Initiatives Sensitive to Ecology(Anadolu Univ, 2025-12-01) Kalmaz, OzlemEcology, an environmental and natural science, has become one of the most critical issues since the second half of the 20th century due to the deterioration of the planet's natural structure and its increasing threat to all living beings. Many thinkers attribute this crisis to capitalist production systems and propose alternative, fairer societal models. Their ideas have influenced both environmental movements and artists. This study explores artistic movements rooted in environmental awareness, including nature art, land art, earth art, environmental art, and ecological art. Due to scope limitations, only key artists from each movement are examined. Using a qualitative research approach, the study conducts a literature review of selected artists and their works. Findings suggest that ecological art effectively raises environmental awareness and encourages individuals to reconsider their consumption habits. These works go beyond aesthetics, acting as a call for social transformation against ecological destruction. Additionally, they highlight the potential of art to rebuild the connection between society and nature. The study emphasizes the need for greater support for artistic endeavors that address ecological concerns. By fostering awareness and inspiring action, such artworks play a vital role in advocating for environmental responsibility and sustainable living.Article Artistic Initiatives Sensitive to Ecology(Anadolu Univ, 2025-12-01) Kalmaz, OzlemEcology, an environmental and natural science, has become one of the most critical issues since the second half of the 20th century due to the deterioration of the planet's natural structure and its increasing threat to all living beings.
