Eyes – Avrupa Gençlik Çevre Gözetmenleri (Eyes)

Abstract

EYES projesinin temel amacı, Avrupa Birliği Kurucu Antlaşması’nın 191. maddesi temelinde çevre ve sağlık korumasını teşvik etmektir. Proje, çevre ve sağlık konularında deneyimli veya ilgili gençlik çalışanlarını ve liderlerini yerel ve uluslararası düzeyde çoğaltıcı aktörler olarak yetiştirmeyi hedeflemiştir. Her ortak kuruluş tarafından seçilen 50 Genç Çevre Gözlemcisi için yerel atölyeler düzenlenmiş, ardından İtalya’nın Vicenza kentinde 6 günlük uluslararası seminer gerçekleştirilmiştir. Katılımcılar yerel çalışmalarını sunmuş, uzmanlardan bilgi almış ve çevre ile sağlık konularında daha güçlü bir sivil bilinç geliştirmiştir. Amaç, gençleri bu alanlardaki karar alma süreçlerine daha yakın hale getirmektir.

EYES – European Youth Environmental Sentinels’ main aim is to promote sustainable environment and health protection, on the basis of Art. 191 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. The project involved youth workers and leaders interested or having a personal experience in environment and health issues, who will be “multiplying” actors at the local and international levels. After the identification and preparation of 50 participants of Youth Environmental Sentinels from each partner organisation, local workshops involving youth workers and leaders were organized to prepare the international seminar. With 6-day International Seminar in Vicenza (Italy), the Sentinels were able to present their engagement at local level, discuss and share their experiences, and get useful inputs from experts in the fields of health and environment about possible solutions to the challenges existing in their territories. In addition, this activity helped them develop an acute civic sense and sensibility on environment and health-related issue. The aim is to have young people closer to decision-making processes on the aforementioned topics.
