Karbon Ayak İzi Olmayan Turizmin Geleceği (TOUCAN)

Abstract

Günümüzde iklim değişikliğiyle mücadele, özellikle turizm sektöründe büyük önem taşımaktadır. Turizm sektöründeki yoğun turist akını, aşırı plastik kullanımı, aşırı atık vb. gibi yerel topluluklarda büyük çevresel sorunlara yol açmaktadır. Ancak turizm sektörü profesyonelleri, daha sürdürülebilir ve çevre dostu bir işletme geliştirmek için gerekli çevresel beceri ve bilgiden ("yeşil beceriler") hâlâ yoksundur. TOUCAN projesinin temel amacı, turizm KOBİ'leri ve bu alandaki Mesleki Eğitim ve Öğretim (VET) sağlayıcıları ve öğretmenleri için çevresel öğrenme yoluyla turizm sektöründeki karbon ayak izini en aza indirmektir.

Fighting climate change is of utmost importance nowadays, particularly in the tourism sector, whose numbers of tourism influxes cause great environmental burden in local communities, such as overuse of plastic, excess of waste, etc. However, tourism industry professionals still lack environmental skills and knowledge (“green skills”) to develop a more sustainable and eco-friendly business. The TOUCAN project’s main goal is thus to minimize the carbon footprint in the tourism sector through environmental learning for tourism SMEs, as well as Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers and teachers in this area.
