Abstract

Elderly people living alone at home may need to move away from their homes when they carry out their daily activities. In some cases they may have difficulty remembering the location they came from in order to return home again. In order to prevent elderly people from getting lost if they move a certain distance away from the area where they live their location can be determined with the support of technological opportunities. Thanks to wearable device technologies relatives of elderly people can easily access their locations with the support of mobile applications. In this study by using Internet of things devices and Fuzzy logic algorithm a system that provides a warning on the mobile application used by the relatives if the elderly person moves away from the living area at a certain distance was proposed. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.
