Arthur Rubinstein, Krystian Zimerman ve Seong-Jin Cho'nun Chopin yorumlarının ve estetik anlayışlarının karşılaştırmalı analizi

Abstract

Chopin, as one of the most famous composers of the Romantic Period, contributed numerous innovations to piano technique and repertoire. The disposition towards individualization of this Period resulted in the development of a Chopin style through the composer's acquisition of his own style. The study explains the Romantic style through analysis and then proceeds to compare this with the Chopin style according to the ideas and performance techniques. Since the composer's Works have always been and continue to be an integral part of every pianist's standard repertoire, many leading Chopin interpreters have come forth. The thesis examines the Chopin interpretations of masters Arthur Rubinstein, Krystian Zimerman and S-Jin Cho based on the Etude Op.10 No.5, Ballade Op.52 No.4 and the Heroic Polonaise Op.53, as genres outstanding in their Chopin innovations. The aim of the study is to observe the similarities and differences among the Chopin interpretations of pianists from three different generations, based on differences caused by differing approaches and interpretative theories. The chosen Works are taken into consideration through comparative analysis based on the major recordings of the three pianists. The focus of the thesis is to see the change of the aesthetic understanding and styles of pianists from different backgrounds over time, specifically on their Chopin interpretations.Chopin, Romantik dönemin ünlü bestecilerinden biri olup, piyano tekniğine ve repertuvarına sayısız yenilikler kazandırmıştır. Dönemin bireyselleşme eğilimi bestecinin kendi üslubunu kazanmasını sağlamış ve zamanla Chopin stili oluşmuştur. Romantik stil öncelikle kendi içinde analiz yöntemi kullanılarak açıklanmış olup, daha sonra fikir ve çalış tekniği bakımından Chopin stili ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Bestecinin eserleri günümüzde halen piyanistlerin standart repertuvarının mutlak bir parçası olması sebebiyle yıllar içerisinde öncü Chopin yorumcuları ortaya çıkmıştır. Chopin yorumlarıyla öne çıkan üç farklı nesilden piyanist, Arthur Rubinstein, Krystian Zimerman ve S-Jin Cho'nun Chopin'e ait kattığı yenilikler bakımından tür olarak daha öncelikli olduğu düşünülen Etüt Op.10 No.5, Balad Op.52 No.4 ve Polonez Op.53 'Heroic' yorumları incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın amacı farklı formlar icra edilirken yorumculuk kuramları çerçevesinde ortaya çıkan değişimleri ve farklı nesillerden piyanistlerin Chopin'in yorumları arasındaki benzerlik ve farkları gözlemlemektir. Seçilen eserler üç piyanist tarafından gerçekleştirilmiş kayıtlara dayanarak karşılaştırmalı analiz yöntemiyle ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın odak noktası farklı alt yapılardan gelen piyanistlerin Chopin yorumculuğu açısından estetik anlayışlarının ve stillerinin zaman içerisindeki değişimidir.
