Efficient Warehouse Management and Application of Information Systems in Warehouse Planning

Abstract

Küreselleşme ile birlikte ülkeler arası sınırların kalkması ile lojistik faaliyetler giderek önem kazanmıştır. Günümüz küresel dünyasında lojistik faaliyetler, örgütler için rekabet avantajı elde edilebilmesi noktasında son derece önemli bir değişken olarak kabul edilmektedir. Lojistik faaliyetlerin içerisinde depolama süreçleri son derece önemlidir. Bu nedenle de günümüz örgütleri rekabet avantajı elde edebilme noktasında depolamaya yönelik stratejik planlamalar yapmakta ve depolama süreçlerinin bilişim sistemleri ile entegre ederek depolamayı maliyet merkezi olmaktan ziyade bir kârlılık merkezi haline getirmeye çabalamaktadırlar. Bu kapsamda yürütülen bu araştırmada, bilişim sistemlerine ilişkin uygulama yeteneklerinin depolama sistemlerine olan katkısının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç kapsamında yapılan anket uygulaması sonucunda elde edilen veriler kapsamında bilişim sistemlerinin depolama süreçlerinin basitleşmesinde, standartlaşmasında, etkin ve verimli sonuçlar doğurmasında etkili olduğu sonucuna varmıştır.

Logistic activities became more important after international boundaries disappear by globalization. In today's global world, logistic activities are approved as an important factor for gaining competitive advantages for organizations. Because of this, in connection with gaining competitive advantage, organizations improve strategies aimed at storage and integrating information systems to their warehouse processes and try to turn their warehouse processes into profitability centers instead of cost centers. In this context, in this research, it is aimed to find out the contribution of information systems to warehouse systems. According to this aim a questionnaire is conducted for finding out the if integration of information systems to warehouse processes show effective results and according to the results of the questionnaire it is found out that information systems do have effect on simplifying, standardization and efficiency of warehouse processes.
