Zenne, Laurance Anyways ve Something Must Break filmlerinin Kuir Teori'ye göre yorumlanması

Abstract

İlk olarak 1970'lerde tanımlanan Kuir Teori, lezbiyen, gey, biseksüel, trans, interseks, aseksüel ve sorgulayan bireyler üzerine olan, psikolojik ve sosyolojik çalışmaların tümüdür. 1990'larda yoğunlaşan Kuir Teori tartışmaları, kuir tanımını değiştirip, odağı yoğunlukla heteronormativiteye karşı bir eleştiri haline getirmiştir. Kuir teori heteronormativiteye ve toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine yapıbozumcul bir şekilde bakar. Kuir tartışmalar ancak son yıllarda ülkemizde gündeme gelmeye başlamış, akademide ve sanat dallarında görünürlüğü giderek artmıştır. Yerli literatürde kuir fazlaca konu edilmemektedir. Bu durumun en önemli sebeplerinden biri, Türkiye sinemasında Kuir Teori üzerinden okunabilecek türde film üretmek isteyen yönetmenlerin, senaryo yazarlarının ve yapımcıların yeterli sayıda olmamasıdır. Bundan dolayı üretilen eserler sınırlıdır. Kuir literatürün ve filmlerin eksikliğinin doğurduğu tartışma ve alan çalışması ihtiyacı bu tezin konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Tez, bu alanda çalışma yapmak isteyenlere katkı sunmak hedefindedir. Dünya sinemasında da olduğu gibi Türk Sinema tarihinde de çoğunlukla heteroseksüel ilişkiler gösterilmiş, bunun dışında gösterilen azınlıklar ise heteronormativite üzerinden yorumlanmıştır. Yakın dönemde Türkiye Sineması'nda LGBTİ filmleri çıkmaya başlamıştır. Kuir içerikli filmlerle ilgili asıl soru LGBTİ karakterlerin nasıl yansıtıldığıdır. Bu karakterler heteronormatif kalıplara sokulmuş mudur yoksa klişelerden uzak, heteroseksizme eleştirel anlatılmıştır. Başka bir soru ise LGBTİ bireyler olumlu bir bakış açısıyla mı sunulmuştur. Bu durumu düşünmek, eleştirmek ve gözlemlemek için, biri yerli ikisi yabancı olmak üzere üç film, Kuir Teori bakış açısından incelenecektir. Queer Theory, first defined in the 1970's, is a field that combines the psychological and sociolocigal studies on lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersexual, asexual and questioning individuals. The intensified discussions on Queer Theory around 1990's updated the definition of queer studies, making it mainly towards criticizing the heteronormativity. Queer Theory focuses on heteronormativity and gender stereotypes in a deconstructive way. In our country, discussions on Queer Theory has just begun in recent years and its visibility in academia and art branches has increased steadily.The domestic literature does not seem to be much concerned with the theory of Queer. That is majorly because Turkish cinema industry does nothave enough directors, producers and scriptwriters that are interested in shooting movies on this topic sothe number of artifacts are limited. Due to the lack of queer literature and movies, there is a need of field studies and discussions on queer theory. This originates the topic of this thesis. Therefore, this study will be a good reference for those who want to work on the field. As in the rest of the world, the relationships mentioned in Turkish cinema are mainly heterosexual. Otherwise, the minor nonheterosexual relationship in movies interpreted over heteronormativity. In recent years, Turkish cinema industry started to produce movies on LGBTİ. The main question is whether the LGBTİ characters are portraited stereotypically, adapted to heteronormativity, or against the clichés. Also another concern is whether the LGBTİ individuals attributed positively or negatively. To think, criticize and observe this situation, three films, two of which are international and one is native will be analyzed according to the perspective of Queer Theory.
