Evaluation of sustainable supply chain performance indicators in agri-retail sector: A case study in agricultural stores / Tarım-perakende sektöründe sürdürülebilir tedarik zinciri performans göstergelerinin değerlendirilmesi: Tarım mağazalarında bir örnek inceleme

Abstract

Tarım sektörünün insanlık için önemi her zaman büyük olmuştur. Ancak günümüzde dünya nüfusunun hızla arttığı ve gelecekte daha da artacağı düşünüldüğünde, insanlığın gıda ihtiyacını karşılayacak yeterli tarım üretimi olmadığı açıktır. Bu nedenle tarım sektöründe sürdürülebilirliğin sağlanması büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu bağlamda tarım-perakende sektörüne de büyük görevler düşmektedir. Diğer sektörlerde olduğu gibi, tarım sektöründe de perakendecilerin gücü artmış ve sektörde etkili bir rol oynamaktadır. Dolayısıyla, sürdürülebilir bir tarım-perakende sektörü oluşturmak, insanlığın geleceği için zorunlu bir adımdır. Tarım-perakende sektöründe sürdürülebilir bir tedarik zinciri oluşturmak için sosyal, çevresel ve ekonomik sürdürülebilirlik performanslarını ölçmek ve değerlendirmek gerekmektedir. Bu çalışma, tarım-perakende sektöründe sürdürülebilirlik performansını belirlemek için kriterler geliştirecek ve Çok-Kriterli Karar Verme (ÇKKV) yöntemleri kullanarak kriterlerin önem düzeyini ve birbirleriyle ilişkisini belirleyecektir. Araştırmanın uygulanması için Türkiye'de faaliyet gösteren bir tarım-perakende kooperatifinin çalışanları dahil edilen bir vaka çalışması yapılmıştır. Bu vaka çalışmasında, bulanık mantıkla birleştirilmiş bulanık CRITIC ve yine bulanık mantıkla birleştirilmiş bulanık Toplam Yorumlayıcı Yapısal Modelleme yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Sonuçlar incelenerek en etkili kriterlere yönelik öneriler sunulmuş ve başka sektörlerden örneklerle desteklenmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, insanlık için kritik öneme sahip olan tarım-perakende sektöründe sürdürülebilir bir tedarik zinciri için performans kriterlerini belirlemek ve bu kriterlerin önem ve etkileşim açısından değerlendirmektir. Bu çalışma, bu önemli alanda sürdürülebilirlik performansını ölçmek isteyen firmalara ve akademisyenlere yardımcı olabilir. The importance of the agriculture sector for humanity has always been significant. However, considering the current world population and the projected increase in the future, it is evident that there is insufficient agricultural production to meet the global food demand. Therefore, ensuring sustainability in the agriculture sector is crucial. In this context, the agriculture-retail sector bears significant responsibilities. Like many other industries, retailers have gained influence and play a significant role in the agriculture sector. Consequently, creating a sustainable agriculture-retail sector is a necessary step for the future of humanity. To establish a sustainable supply chain in the agriculture-retail sector, it is essential to measure and assess social, environmental, and economic sustainability performances. This study aims to develop performance criteria for sustainable agriculture-retail supply chains using Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods to determine the importance level and interrelations of these criteria. A case study involving employees of an agriculture-retail cooperative in Turkey was conducted for the implementation of this research. Fuzzy CRITIC (CRiteria Importance through Intercriteria Correlation) and fuzzy Total Interpretive Structural Modeling (TISM) methods, combined with fuzzy logic, were employed in the case study. The results were analyzed, and valuable recommendations were provided based on the most influential criteria, supported by examples from other industries. The main objective of this study is to identify performance criteria for a sustainable supply chain in the agriculture-retail sector, a field of unquestionable importance for humanity. This research can be beneficial for companies and academics seeking to measure sustainability performance in this crucial sector.
