Abstract

Cappadocia is located within central Anatolia between the cities of NevŚehir Kayseri and Niǧde. Three volcanoes on the NevŚehir plateau Mount Erciyes (3917 m) Mount Hasan and a smaller mountain named Güllüdaǧ had formed this territory by frequent and continual eruptions and earthquakes for thousands of years in the Tertiary period. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg. © 2014 Elsevier B.V.
