Abstract
This study focuses on the case of Feed Company a prominent feed production company established in 1983. With a comprehensive product range spanning from farm to fork Feed Company plays a crucial role in the growth and success of the agricultural sector. The study employs a two-phased approach incorporating qualitative research techniques. Firstly semi-structured interviews were conducted with representatives from Feed Company allowing for an in-depth exploration of their utilization of smart farming technologies. The interviews followed a predetermined set of questions supplemented by open-ended inquiries to capture emerging themes and insights. Subsequently a content analysis of the collected data was performed using MAXQDA software enabling systematic categorization and coding to facilitate comprehensive analysis. The objective of this study is to identify the technologies commonly employed in the farming industry and to establish the relationship between sustainability and the implementation of Smart farming technologies. The findings of this research contribute to the understanding of how information and communication technologies (ICT) and Smart farming principles can drive transformative changes in the farming industry leading to enhanced sustainability and profitability. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.
