This study investigates earthquake safety of Aegean Customs Provincial Directorate Building located in Izmir Province. After performance analysis strengthening proposal developed for the existing building and possibility of demolishing and constructing a new building were examined. The implementation cost for both cases was calculated as, strengthening cost of Aegean Customs Building is 60% of reconstruction cost. So data is developed to make a decision for protecting the building or to demolish and rebuild it. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.
