(VILNIUS GEDIMINAS TECH UNIV, 2020) Cagri Bulut; Sefer Aydogan; Aydogan, Sefer; Bulut, Cagri
In line with the advancing airway capability the non-acronautical business opportunities at airports are also in growth. To attract more passengers or to generate extra income over non-aeronautical services the airport decision-makers need to evaluate the quality of their services. This study aims at introducing an expanded approach to improve airport service quality aspects of the non-aeronautical business opportunities. Given the increasing number of airports passengers prefer airports which provide better or extra services compared to others. To reveal the airport service quality (ASQ) aspects together with the quality department experts we conducted a qualitative study that put forward six significant dimensions for an effective evaluation of airport service quality at an airport. Based on the results of the qualitative study we designed the sector-specific questionnaire and its empirical data is conducted over 250 passengers through a face-to-face survey. Survey results introduce a practical assessment tool for the use of airport managers to gather strategic inputs on their strategic plans and quality implications. Results also contribute to the literature by presenting a comprehensive understanding of the airport service quality.

Does Really Innovative Work Behaviors of Emloyees Mediate the Innovative Performance Impacts of Intrapreneurship?
(ACAD CONFERENCES LTD, 2011) Cagri Bulut; Seray Begum Samur; Duygu Seckin Halac; Samur, Seray Begum; Halac, Duygu Seckin; Bulut, Cagri; H Fulford
In today's highly dynamic and innovation based competitive environments force corporations to develop distinctive employee skills and competencies which were difficult to replicate or to imitate by the competitors. Resource based view suggests that developing deploying and protecting intangible assets are crucial to gain and sustain competitive advantage. Internal corporate entrepreneurship (intrapreneurship) plays the key role for sustainable rejuvenation of ultimate organizational performance. The literature on intrapreneurship and organizational innovativeness has focused on the managerial competencies and managerial tools to achieve effective intrapreneurship rather than the role of employees who are the essence of organizations. In the literature there are five managerial tools that are needed to support an innovation oriented entrepreneurial climate within the large organizations to orient employees to be more entrepreneurial and thereby innovative, namely (1) management support (2) time availability (3) individual freedom and autonomy (4) reward availability/reinforcement (5) management's and employees' absorption capacity of risk. Innovation is the process of discovery diffusion action. In this multi stage process ideas are captured, filtered funded developed modified clarified and eventually commercialized. Therefore this study complements the literature by taking into account the innovative work behavior of employee as a mediator factor with a multi-dimensional structure between intrapreneurial climatic factors and innovative performance. Management support reward system autonomy tolerance for failure and allocation of free time have been employed as the compounds of innovative work behavior where idea generation idea promotion and idea realization have been employed as innovative work behavior. Survey method was used to conduct the data of this study. All scales have been adopted from existing literature. 65 manufacturing firms without any industrial limitations were chosen randomly for the field study. The final sample includes 199 respondents from 45 different firms mostly located in Izmir Ataturk Organized Industrial Zone and ITOB Organized Industrial Zone. The respondents of this study were the employees' of manufacturing firms from all hierarchical levels. After collecting the surveys and processing survey data into SPSS 17.0 statistical software Exploratory Factor Analysis was used to test the validity of the scales. Reliability tests of each factor structure and their Pearson correlations scores were calculated and presented with descriptive statistics. Finally multiple regression analysis was utilized to test the hypotheses of the study. The results indicate that intrapreneurial climate dimensions of management support and reward availability together with civic virtue are strong drivers of Innovative Work Behaviors (IWBs) these types of behaviors are also effective instruments for the Innovative Performance of the firms which lead to effective functioning of the organization in terms of manufacturing new product and financial performance.

ENVIRONMENTALIST PREDISPOSITIONS AND RECYCLED PRODUCT PREFERENCES
(INT JOURNAL CONTEMPORARY ECONOMICS & ADMINISTRATIVE SCIENCES, 2020) Cagri Bulut; Murat Nazli; Bulut, Cagri; Nazli, Murat
The study aims to uncover environmentalist predispositions based on the Big Five Personality with support of the theory of planned behavior and examines the effects of environmentalists' predispositions on the recycled product preferences. Based on the big five personality traits this paper proposes a typology on the environmentalists' predispositions for conscious consumption studies which consists of concern pleasure consciousness beliefs and norms. The method of the empirical study is a self-reported survey with a sample of 256 participants from a developing economy. The results of the factor analyses confirm the five-dimensional theoretical construct of individuals' predispositions towards environmentalism. Furthermore multiple regression analyses for testing the associations of the environmentalist predispositions on recycled product preferences disclose that among five of the dimensions environmentalist consciousness environmentalist beliefs and environmentalist norms have joint effects on preferring a recycled product. This study is one of the preliminary attempts that examines the effects of environmentalist predispositions on a conscious consumption choice specifically on preferring the recycled products as a green purchasing behavior type.

(ACAD CONFERENCES LTD, 2013) Cagri Bulut; Eda Evla Mutlu; Murat Nazli; Mutlu, Eda Evla; Bulut, Cagri; Nazli, Murat; P Teirlinck; S Kelchtermans; F DeBeule
Entrepreneurship and Innovation related regional and national development has become a phenomenon for the last decades, however the outcomes of these endeavors have attracted many researchers agencies and international organisations such as European Commission Global Entrepreneurship Monitor etc. through their projects programs departments or initiatives. Therefore this study examines the worldwide known six Innovation and Entrepreneurship Initiatives (here after IEIs) assessing of entrepreneurship and innovation. The main IEIs are (IUS) Innovation Union Scoreboard GEM (Global Entrepreneurship Monitor) GII (Global Innovation Index) and ICI (Innovation Capacity Index) GEINDEX (Global Entrepreneurship Index) and WCY (World Competitiveness Yearbook). This research includes the observation of some commonly used IEIs in terms of sample size the quality (research and development technology creative output expenditure on research and development level of research whether it is firm country or employer entrepreneur level etc.) and the quantity of indices measurement method survey frequency and some other specifications. Indices are compared with each other to expose both the similarities and the differences, however there is still a big gap on the comparison of state and degree of entrepreneurship and innovation in nations. Although there are some obstacles in the measurement of IEIs they present a broader point of view to the researchers and practitioners. As a result of the diversity in measurement methods sampling sizes indicators etc. there is not a single method for evaluating these indicators which makes it difficult to make a comparison. As a result for the proper establishment of IEIs standardization of the initiatives should be considered. This research sheds a light for further scientific debates in this field of study.

Innovative Performance Impacts of Corporate Entrepreneurship:: An Empirical Research in Turkey
(Intellectual Property Publ House, 2008) Yilmaz, Cengiz; Bulut, Cagri
Increasing intensity of competitiveness in local and global markets has made for both competing firms and interested academies to explore and identify innovative consequences of competitive firm actions, and particularly those of Corporate Entrepreneurship, important study areas. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of four prime dimensions of corporate entrepreneurship, namely, proactiveness, risk taking, innovativeness, and competitive aggressiveness, on the innovative performances of firms located in a developing country, Turkey. A probability sample of firms from a multitude of different industries has been drawn first and then mail surveys have been used for a two-phase data collection process. The final sample includes 2032 respondents from 312 different firms. Confirmatory factor analysis has been used to validate the measures, and multiple regression analysis has been utilized to test the hypothesized effects of entrepreneurship dimensions on firm-level innovative performance. The results indicate that entrepreneurship dimensions of proactiveness and innovativeness are strong drivers of innovative performance, whereas an entrepreneurial culture that emphasizes risk taking and competitive aggressiveness does not seem to relate in a significant manner with innovativeness.

(EMERALD GROUP PUBLISHING LTD, 2022) Cagri Bulut; Tugberk Kaya; Ahmed Muneeb Mehta; Rizwan Qaiser Danish; Bulut, Cagri; Kaya, Tugberk; Danish, Rizwan Qaiser; Mehta, Ahmed Muneeb
Purpose This study examines the effects of incremental and radical creativity on both product and process innovation by considering the moderating roles of knowledge sharing in intensity and quality. Design/methodology/approach Primary research is conducted over 250 employees from service and manufacturing firms operating in Pakistan. Principal component analyses are conducted for the data reduction process and multiple regression analyses are performed to test the research hypotheses. Findings Knowledge sharing intensity and the quality of knowledge sharing moderate the effects of radical creativity on product and process innovation that predicts firm performance. Besides the research presents the differences in the impacts of incremental and radical creativity with the moderations of organisational knowledge on product and process innovations between the service and manufacturing firms and implications for practitioners and researchers. Research limitations/implications This work represents a sample from manufacturing and service firms operating in Pakistan. Still caution is the generalising specific results to other organisations in either service or manufacturing domains or manufacturing. Practical implications While boosting creativity in organisations knowledge sharing practices differ for sector domains. For service firms knowledge intensity is essential while knowledge quality is meaningful for manufacturing firms. Originality/value This study contributes to the literature at the crossroads of organisational creativity and innovation twofold, the first is to investigate the combined effects of incremental and radical creativity on product and process innovation separately. The second is to examine the moderator roles of knowledge sharing practices of knowledge quality and intensity while predicting product and process innovation with incremental and radical creativity.

Organizational support for intrapreneurship and its interaction with human capital to enhance innovative performance
(Emerald Group Publishing Ltd, 2010) Lutfihak Alpkan; Cagri Kaderoglu Bulut; Gürhan Günday; Gündüz Ulusoy; K. Kilic; Alpkan, Lutfihak; Bulut, Cagri; Kilic, Kemal; Ulusoy, Gunduz; Gunday, Gurhan
Purpose: The main purpose of this paper is to investigate the direct and interactive effects of organizational support and human capital on the innovative performance of companies. Individual effects of the organizational support dimensions namely: management support for generating and developing new business ideas allocation of free time convenient organizational structures concerning in particular decentralization level or decision-making autonomy appropriate use of incentives and rewards and tolerance for trial-and-errors or failures in cases of creative undertakings or risky project implementations are also to be investigated. Design/methodology/approach: The study develops and tests a theoretical research model where the organizational support dimensions are the independent variables innovative performance is the dependent variable and the human capital has a moderating role in this relationship via a questionnaire study covering 184 manufacturing firms in Turkey. Findings: Among the individual direct effects of the dimensions of organizational support management support for idea development and tolerance for risk taking are found to exert positive effects on innovative performance. Availability of a performance based reward system and free time have no impact on innovativeness while work discretion has a negative one. As for the role of human capital (HC) it is found to be an important driver of innovative performance especially when the OS is limited. However when the levels of both HC and OS are high innovative performance does not increase any further. Originality/value: Two distinct research streams namely organizational support literature and human capital literature have already focused on their individual impacts on the innovative performance. However a combination of these separate streams was not tried before. The paper discusses and investigates what will happen when both positive drivers interact with each other. Moreover it also investigates how organizational support and human capital are complementary. © Emerald Group Publishing Limited. © 2010 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Sustainable Entrepreneurship for Business Opportunity Recognition: Analysis of an Awareness Questionnaire among Organisations
(MDPI, 2022) Helena Fidlerová; Augustín Stareček; Natália Vraňaková; Cagri Kaderoglu Bulut; Michael Keaney; Bulut, Cagri; Keaney, Michael; Fidlerova, Helena; Starecek, Augustin; Vranakova, Natalia
An important challenge for the future is focusing on sustainability in life and business. The three elements of sustainability (economic environmental and social) defined in 17 factors by the United Nations (UN) as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) may therefore be the main drivers of business competitiveness and opportunity recognition. The main aim of the article is to identify the awareness level of sustainability and sustainable development goals in the context of business opportunity areas by analysing the results of a survey of organisations in six countries (Finland Slovakia Italy Austria Spain and Turkey). A multilingual questionnaire administered in six participating countries was used as a collection tool to determine the organisation’s level of awareness regarding the SDGs. A research questionnaire was filled in by 238 respondents providing a cross-cultural view of their attitudes knowledge and future interest in sustainability and the SDGs. The obtained results indicate differences in the approach to sustainability issues the scope of knowledge interest competencies in sustainable development and SDGs and the content of implementation of sustainability and SDGs in organisations in different sectors regions and countries. Further statistical evaluation of the research hypotheses states the significant relationship between the two variables: sustainable strategy and the designation of a responsible employee in each organisation rs = 0.677 (α = 0.05). It is essential to eliminate the gap in the cross-cultural approach and knowledge in engaging with sustainable strategy and its implementation in current and future organisation activities in the context of sustainability and SDGs in order to enhance opportunities for the growth of sustainability-focused entrepreneurship across different sectors and countries. © 2022 Elsevier B.V.
