Proposed framework includes data modelling missing data prediction anomaly detection data fusion and trust mechanism phases. Thus temporal analysis is performed on the preprocessed sensor data and missing data are predicated. Then outliers on collected data are detected on the cluster head nodes by using Eta one-class Support Vector Machines. If an event is detected data are fused and then send to sink. If an anomaly is detected for a node's data the trust weight of the node is decreased.Conference Object Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 1A Measurement Technique For Determination of Power Levels of Different Propagation Modes in Circular Waveguides(IEEE, 2020) Ceyhan Turkmen; Esra Alkin; Mustafa Secmen; Secmen, Mustafa; Turkmen, Ceyhan; Alkin, EsraThis study describes a measurement technique for detecting the power levels of different propagation modes in a circular waveguide in the mod converter structure from a rectangular waveguide to a circular waveguide. Specially designed SMA-waveguide adapters are generally used to measure these power levels of propagating modes inside the circular waveguide. While these adaptors can measure power level of desired transmitted mode they are inadequate to obtain suppression levels of other propagation modes simultaneously. Without need of special adapters the technique proposed in this study can determine the amplitudes of different propagation modes in the waveguide at the same time by using 2-port S-parameter values belonging to two identical mode converters. This method has been verified by a rectangular TE10 - circular TM01 mod converter designed and manufactured at center frequency of about 11.4 GHz.Conference Object Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 1A Multimedia Application for an Embedded System(IEEE, 2016) Sadik Arslan; Mustafa Gunduzalp; Ercument Turk; Gunduzalp, Mustafa; Arslan, Sadik; Turk, ErcumentIn this study system multimedia applications is realized for an embedded system. In this problem the main orthogonal cross aisle which is very common to be seen in warehouses to facilitate travel between locations is planned to be designed as discrete manner such as tunnels along picking aisles. Hence the problem of locating these tunnels along picking aisles so as to increase efficiency of order picking operations which is one of the most costly and the most related operations with the order delivery time in warehouses is propounded. Additionally we develop a new dynamic programming based polynomial time algorithm to calculate optimal length of order picking tour in this new design problem. Hence this algorithm provides very quick solutions even for large pick list sizes. The computational performance of this algorithm is compared with Held-Karp branch and bound algorithm which is a well-known algorithm for travelling salesman problem. Last we solve an example problem and explain how the algorithm is implemented to generate optimal tour.Review A review of substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) filter architecture and filter design technologies, Yüzey tümleşik dalga kılavuzu (YTD) filtre mimarisi incelemesi ve filtre tasarım teknolojileri(Gazi Universitesi, 2024) Kemal Güvenli; Sibel Yeni̇Kaya; Mustafa SeçmenIn this review article transmission line technologies are compared in terms of loss dimension production cost ease of integration and design complexity. However further processing tools such as visualization interactive clustering are often necessary to capture the clusters from the learned SOM knowledge. A recent visualization scheme CONNvis [2] and interactive clustering from CONNvis utilizes the data topology for SOM knowledge representation by using a weighted Delaunay graph CONN. In this paper an automated clustering scheme for SOMs. SOMcluster which is a two-level clustering of CONN by the skills obtained in the interactive process is proposed. It is shown that SOMcluster which does not require the number of clusters a priori is used successfully for automated segmentation of a remote sensing spectral image which has many clusters some of which were unidentified in previous works.Article Citation - WoS: 4Citation - Scopus: 10Bi-Objective green vehicle routing problem minimizing carbon emissions and maximizing service level(GAZI UNIV FAC ENGINEERING ARCHITECTURE, 2023) Ozgur Kabadurmus; Mehmet Serdar Erdogan; Erdoğan, Mehmet Serdar; Kabadurmus, OzgurIn this study a bi-objective Green Vehicle Routing Problem is presented as an extension of the well-known Vehicle Routing Problem. Green Vehicle Routing Problem aims to improve routing decisions of companies using Alternative Fuel Vehicles to reduce carbon emissions. The presented problem herein has two objectives that are the minimization of total carbon emissions and the maximization of service level. While total carbon emission is assumed to be proportional to total distance cargo delivery time window violations of customers are considered as an indicator of service level. The problem was modeled as Mixed-Integer Linear Programming and epsilon-constraint method which is a multi-objective optimization method is developed to solve it. To effectively solve large problem instances a clustering-based heuristic method is proposed. The heuristic method achieved a good performance by finding near Pareto-optimal solutions that are found by the MILP model. Our proposed mathematical model and heuristic method are tested on seven realistically designed hypothetical case studies. According to the results the minimization of carbon emission and maximization of service level are two conflicting objectives. As the service level increases the number of vehicles and carbon emissions also increase. As carbon emission increases and time windows violation decreases more vehicles and alternative fuel stations are used.Article Bi-Objective green vehicle routing problem minimizing carbon emissions and maximizing service level, Karbon salınımını azaltan ve hizmet kalitesini arttıran iki amaçlı yeşil araç rotalama problemi(Gazi Universitesi, 2023) Ozgur Kabadurmus; Mehmet Serdar ErdoğanIn this study a bi-objective Green Vehicle Routing Problem is presented as an extension of the well-known Vehicle Routing Problem. At the production completion and demand arrival epochs there are two types of decisions. The first is the determination of the number of lines that should be active (producing) and the second one is whether to satisfy an arriving demand. Especially at the states where inventory position is low it would be more economical to reject the arriving demands of lower priority classes and reserve on-hand stock for future demands of more valuable classes. This study contributes to the control literature of make-to-stock systems with the simultaneous consideration of fixed production costs multiple lines and several customer classes. The dynamic programming formulation of the system which we model as a Markov Decision Process is developed by defining a two-dimensional system state vector. The model is solved with the value iteration algorithm. It is shown with the numerical examples that the optimal production and stock rationing policies have dynamic structures. Due to the dynamic nature of the optimal policies we also propose easy-to-apply and well-performing alternative policies. The proposed production policy is an extended version of the twocritical-number policy which is frequently considered in the literature. The proposed rationing policy is a dynamic one that considers the value of outstanding production orders in addition to inventory level.Article Control of make-to-stock production systems with setup costs, Hazırlık maliyetli stoğa-üretim sistemlerinin kontrolü(Gazi Universitesi Muhendislik-Mimarlik mmfd@gazi.edu.tr, 2020) Sinem Özkan; Önder BulutThis study considers the joint control of production and inventory in a Markovian make-to-stock environment with parallel production lines production start-up costs several customer classes and lost sales. These security themes can be classified as national security economic security cultural security and internal security The frequency with which radical right parties use these themes may vary according to the specific historical social and cultural characteristics of a particular country. The impact of these differences is studied in by a methodology based on securitization theory and critical discourse analysis and by analysing two radical right parties that achieved election success with their anti-immigrant policies: Freedom Party of Austria (FPO) from Austria and Sweden Democrat (SD) from Sweden.Conference Object Design and Implementation of a Customized Micro Server Platform for Indoor Monitoring and Control(IEEE, 2019) Zirve Baran Totuk; Tuncay Ercan; Ercan, Tuncay; Totuk, Zirve BaranThe concept of the Internet of Industrial Things (IIoT) which emerged when the Internet of Things (IoT) applications started to be used in the industry has provided the efficiency flexibility traceability and security to the end users in their workspaces. Indoor monitoring and control systems which are the leading applications of the Internet of industrial things play a major role in providing these elements. Over the years these systems have evolved from wired alarm systems to data loggers wireless sensor networks and then to with cloud computing based smart gateways. In the face of this evolution of systems the expectations of end users such as being able to control at tens of thousands of points high quality of service or achieving commercial targets have increased at the same rate.In order to meet all these expectations a modular and compact platform based on Fog Computing and single board computer which provides optimum performance and cost has been designed and developed in this study. When the results obtained from the test processes implemented under real scenarios are examined it is seen that the hardware used and the software infrastructure all open source are sufficient and usable for indoor monitoring and control applications.Conference Object Citation - WoS: 3Citation - Scopus: 5Development of a Multi-Sensor Fire Detector Based On Machine Learning Models(IEEE, 2019) Mert Nakip; Cuneyt Guzelis; Guzelis, Cuneyt; Nakip, MertThis paper proposes a method to reduce false positive fire alarms by fusing data from different sensors using a specific machine learning model. We design an electronic circuit with 6 sensors to detect 7 physical sensory inputs. We experimentally collect dataset for training and testing of machine learning models which are used for the implementation of fusing and classifying sensor data. An algorithm which employs the trained machine learning model for the classification of sensor data and then the thresholding is designed. Machine learning models are selected based on the results of comparisons among multi-layer perceptron support vector machine and radial basis function network. We use classification accuracy percentage false negative error and false positive error as measures for comparison. Multi-layer perceptron is observed as the best model according to its 96.875% classification accuracy.Conference Object Development of semantic web application architecture for natural language based querying(CEUR-WS ceurws@sunsite.informatik.rwth-aachen.de, 2018) Ceren Ocal Tasar; Murat Komesli; Murat Osman Unalir; Tasar, Ceren Ocal; Komesli, Murat; Unalir, Murat Osman; B. Tekinerdogan , A.H. DogruWith the developing technology and increased demand on practical usage of knowledge users require to interact with systems by using natural language. Researchers discover the necessity of natural language queries should be converted to machine understandable format to meet the requirement of users. The necessity of the conversion triggered the researches on studies on question answering systems that is one of the systems mostly interact with natural language queries. For question answering systems that utilizes structural knowledge sources understanding user intention accurately consists of the processes of natural language processing representing the user intention and forming structured query to generate the answer. A technique and an architecture to convert natural language query to ontology query language by utilizing from both linguistic and semantic technologies are proposed in this study. Automatic conversion of an unstructured natural language query to a structured ontology query language SPARQL and process of producing answer over linked data are explained in the proposed technique and architecture. A different approach other than the related studies is followed in terms of defining a “Query Semantization” layer in the proposed architecture and developing a natural language aware ontology for the technique proposed. Contribution to the literature is expected by combining natural language processing technique and semantic web technologies with a different approach. © 2019 Elsevier B.V. With the Covid-19 evolution institutional application-based design education has also had to transition to the online environment. In this study while the effects and results of the online environment in design education were investigated the interaction between the interfaces of learning management systems (LMS) which are digital platforms and the student was examined. Under the interface-student interaction student-instructor student-student and student-content were investigated. The study aims to examine student interaction through the “Sakai” and “Blackboard” interfaces used in online education in two universities providing design education in Izmir. Among the user research methods focus group interviews and online surveys on behavioral attitudinal and qualitative axes were completed and qualitative content analysis of the data obtained was conducted. In this study the reasons why the platforms and interfaces used are not preferred in terms of interaction the role and importance of other communication tools used by the students were investigated. Students stated that their interaction through the LMS was low and it was observed that the level of interaction was less than in the physical environment. However when interaction with other tools and platforms used in online education is taken into consideration the level of interaction has increased to a higher level. This study which was conducted by taking the current thoughts and comments of the students is aimed to contribute to the development of future user-oriented digital designs and the existing online conditions in design education. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.
