    Historical Illustrations on Archeological Museums and Project Study for Hasankeyf Museum

    One of the languages of visual expression, the illustration was used as a form of expression by people before foundation of writing. In prehistoric times, people often portrayed their lifestyles, hunting and day-to-day events by using coal or root paint on cave walls. Nowadays, illustration being used in many sectors by separating to different branches. From technical illustration to fashion illustrations, many of the fields have become a way of universal expression. Historical illustrations are a subdivision of natural history illustrations. History is made in order to gain daily life by telling the people, animals, plants, houses that are living in the beginning. The historical illustrations that are usually used in the museums aim to tell what the period covered the historical process of the museum and how it covers the lifestyles, clothes, hunting processes and habitats of the people living at that time. In this thesis; the aim was to explain the historical process of making the historical illustrations for the Hasankeyf Museum and on what points they were made. Illustrated works of illustrations aim to convey the period covered by the recently planned Hasankeyf Museum to visitors. Keywords: Illustration, Historical Illustration, History, Archeology, Museum
