Due to the lockdowns many businesses closed their doors forever while some others experienced unpredictable growth. Online retail is among the areas that has seen the greatest growth. Understanding the elements that contribute to success and survival of companies during the pandemic era and utilizing these elements to improve service quality crucial for any business. It is no secret that logistics operations also played and still plays a big role in mitigating the damage dealt by the pandemic. Therefore logistics service quality is as important as the overall service quality. In this study the service quality elements that play a role in success are discussed. Then the online retailers operating in Turkey are evaluated on the basis of these service quality elements. For this study a survey was conducted with 160 participants and the data gathered was then analyzed with regression analysis. The results indicate that logistics service quality (LSQ) physical distribution service quality (PDSQ) and response to costumer (RTC) elements play a significant role in ensuring survival and even success of companies during the pandemic. © 2022 Elsevier B.V. In this study it is aimed to evaluate the current industry position by measuring service quality levels of each parcel delivery company operating in Turkey and determine the parcel service quality attributes that are needed to be improved. SERVQUAL method was used in order to evaluate the current service quality levels. Ancak oyun tabanını mikroişlemlerle boğmak oyuncuların hayal kırıklığına uğramasına işlemlere diğer oyuncalara ve hatta oyun geliştiricilerine karşı direnç göstermesine sebep olabilme potansiyeline sahiptir. Oyuncuların sanal ürün satın almalarının ardındaki motivasyonları anlamak oyun geliştiricilerinin tekliflerini kişiselleştirmeleri ve satışları artırarak iş sürdürülebilirliğini sağlamaları için çok önemlidir. Bu keşifsel çalışma mikroişlemleri kullanarak Pokemon GO oyuncularının oyun içi satın alma niyetlerini etkileyen motivasyonları anlamayı amaçlamaktadır. Amaca yönelik olarak İzmir Türkiye’de Pokemon GO Topluluk Günü etkinliğine katılan 28 Pokemon GO oyuncusu ile yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Toplanan veriler tümdengelimli içerik analizi yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. Sonuçlar birçok motivasyonun diğer oyunlarlaa benzer olmasına rağmen Pokemon GO'nun benzersiz oyun tarzının oyun/tasarım amacı uyumsuzluğu fiziksel erişim kıtlık keyif beklentisi ve mekansal yakınlık/uzak erişim gibi yeni motivasyonlar ortaya çıkardığını ortaya koymuştur. Ek olarak tüketim değeri teorisinin bileşenlerinin oyun içi satın alma kararlarında önemli bir rol oynadığı bulunmuştur. Kaçırma Korkusu (FOMO) da önemli bir faktör olarak tanımlanmış ve birçok oyuncunun deneyimleri etkinlikleri veya özel Pokemon'ları kaçırmamak için satın almalar yaptığı ortaya konmuştur. Durakbasa , M.G. GençyılmazThe retail industry is a large service platform where national and international manufacturers bring their products to consumers. Today the retail sector both bricks-and-mortar and online is developing and adapting to the changing needs of the customers. Depending on the changing demand patterns of the customers one can notice that key success criteria of the sector transform as well. Rapid adaptation to changing requirements of the retail sector is necessary in order to survive in the increased competition and to increase the market share among the other companies. In order to analyze the sector in Turkey retail brands that are selected from the largest 500 companies of Turkey (Capital 500 list) were examined using the relevant success criteria. Key success factors have been chosen from the existing literature about the retail sector. Firstly retailing was examined in a theoretical framework to better undersand the elements that define the sector alongside technological capabilities of the sector. Additionally the effects of Covid-19 on e-retailing were also evaluated with the purpose of determining the changes forced upon the sector by the pandemic. In the light of the findings the emerging companies observed changes and directional shifts and the size of the competition in Turkish retailing sector are discussed. Success criteria were chosen from the existing literature and were weighted in accordance with importance ranks obtained through content analysis. Considering success criteria DEA analysis has been carried out and the efficiency level of the companies has been evaluated. © 2023 Elsevier B.V. Modern world's gaming devices have a come a long way since the introduction of their analog ancestors. Video games also transformed, pushed and pulled by consoles' and computers' techinal requirements until they took the shape they are today. Today, as a surprise to many, the main medium of gaming is mobile devices that we take to everywhere with us instead of the technologically superior gaming consoles and computers. With this new gaming medium, came the new monetization method, microtransactions. Since their initial introduction to the industry, microtransactions have been a great revenue generator for the game developers. Their success ensured the continuity of this practice but at the cost of player dissatisfaction, government interceptions to protect vulnerable groups, and many more issues. Regardless of the voices raised against them, microtransactions are still going strong as a great revenue generator which means there people out there purchasing virtual items using these microtransactions. Understanding what makes gamers spend money on these microtransactions is crucial for the parties involving in this process for different reasons. Player motivations toward in-game purchases are an area where many scholars conducted their researches. This thesis aims to further contribute to this area by focusing on a popular mobile game called Pokemon GO and revealing Pokemon GO player's motivations for in-game purchases and their perceptions towards the game which features a considerable amount of microtransactions. Pokemon GO was selected as the focus of this thesis due to its unique gameplay style and the potential to uncover player motivations which might not exists in other games. In order to better understand player motivations for making in game purchases and player perceptions towards the game a qualitative research method was adopted. Judgemental sampling technique was utilized to select the participants best fit to answer these questions. In the first stage of data analysis, descriptive analysis was employed to explain players' perceptions towards the game. Then, in the second part of the data analysis, deductive content analysis was conducted on the data collected via semi-structııred interview. Motivations found were then compared with the literature for categorization and drawing conclusions. According to describtive analysis results, Pokemon GO players' perceptions toward the game, other players that make in-game purchases, and microtrasaction featured in the game differ from gamers playing other games. Deductive content analysis results revealed six motivation categories and a total of thirty-nine motivations under the main theme of motivations. Due to the role it plays in overall logistics chain performance it is important for cargo firms to be at their peak level in terms of provided service quality and implementation. Continuous performance evaluation is critical for diagnosing and preventing any problems that might disrupt the firms’ ability to keep providing their services and further prevent customer dissatisfaction. Therefore the aim of this paper is identifying the problems that cause the performance of Company X’s distribution center located in City A to stay below desired levels which consequently lead to customer dissatisfaction and to offer a feasible solution for the identified problems.
