Beethoven "Ay Işığı Sonatı"nın farklı yorumlarının karşılaştırılması / Comparison of different interpretations of Beethoven's"Moonlight Sonata"

Abstract

Müzikte yorum, bestecinin yazdığı müziksel işaretlerin bir yorumcu aracılığıyla müziksel seslere dönüştürülmesidir. Fakat yorumlar arasında farklar vardır. Bunun nedenlerinden birisi, yorumcunun yoruma ilişkin tutumudur. Bazı yorumcular, metne, besteciye ve döneme daha sadıktır bazıları daha subjektif olmayı tercih eder. Diğer bir neden ise, müzik metninin her ayrıntıyı içermesinin mümkün olmamasıdır. Tezin birinci bölümünde, yorum kelimesinin anlamı ve yorumun amacı tartışılmıştır. İkinci bölümde, Beethoven'in 14 numaralı sonatı Op.27 No.2 tanıtılmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde, Beethoven'in kullandığı piyanolar tanıtılmış ve sanatçının piyano sonatlarındaki tempo, dinamik ve pedal uygulamaları konusundaki çeşitli görüşlerden bahsedilmiştir. Böylece bestecinin piyano sonatlarının nasıl yorumlanmasının uygun olacağı konusuna ışık tutulmaya çalışılmıştır. Dördüncü bölümde, bu eserdeki farklı yorumları dikkat çeken sekiz tanınmış piyanistin kayıtları dinlenilmiştir. Sekiz piyanistin her birinin eserin üç bölümünü nasıl çaldığı ve bu piyanistlerin yorumlarında başta tempo, dinamik ve pedal kullanımı konuları olmak üzere ne gibi farklılıklar olduğu not edilip birbirleriyle karşılaştırılmıştır. Beşinci bölümdeki formal analiz ve ekte verilen armonik analiz, yorumla ilgili ipuçlarını açığa çıkarmıştır. Eserin temel düşüncesinin ümitsiz bir aşk veya bestecinin ölüme isyanı olduğu gibi farklı görüşler de dikkate alınarak farklı yorumlar incelenmiştir. Farklı yorumcuların, dinleyicinin müzikle bütünleşmesini nasıl sağladıkları keşfedilmeye çalışılmıştır. However, almost always, there are differences between performances. One of the reasons for these differences is the performer's attitude towards the composition. Some performers are loyal to the score, composer and the period; some prefer to be subjective. Another reason is that the score cannot contain every detail. In the first part of this thesis, the meaning and the purpose of interpretation is discussed. In the second part, Beethoven's 14th sonata, Op.27 No.2 is introduced. In the third part, the pianos Beethoven used are described. Views about tempo, dynamics and pedalling in his piano sonatas are explained with the hope that these may shed light on how his piano sonatas should be performed. In the fourth part, the performances of eight famous pianists are listened to. The interpretation of each pianist in each three parts of the piece is examined with special interest on their tempo choices, dynamics of playing and pedalling practices. The fifth part is the formal analysis of the piece. Harmonic analysis is given as supplement. These analysises provide clues on how to perform the piece. Keeping in mind that there are different views of the main idea of the piece- whether it is about a hopeless love or about humans' reaction to death-, comments are made on how different interpreters affect the listeners' perception of the music.
