Rusya'da dergi illüstrasyonunun tarzı ve estetik özellikleri (18–20. yüzyıllar) / The stylistic and aesthetic characteristics of the periodical illustrations in Russia (18th –20th centuries)

Abstract

Sunulan çalışmayla Rus illüstrasyonunun gelişim tarihinin ilk kez çalışılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamı olan 18. yüzyıldan 20. yüzyılın 1980li yıllarına kadar olan dönemde, Rus illüstrasyonunun Rönesans devri başlar ve hızla gelişir. Bu dönem birkaç aşamayı kapsamaktadır: 1.Tasvir - Ton Aşaması (18. yüzyıl); 2. Renkli Aşama (19. yüzyıl). 3. Fotomekanik Aşama (20. yüzyılın başından, 1970li yıllara kadardönemi). Bu kapsamdaki Yüksek Lisans Tezi'nde, eski dönemlerden 1980li yıllara kadar Rus Dergi illüstrasyonunun çeşitleri de araştırılmış, dönemlere göre illüstrasyonunun karakteristik özellikleri analiz edilmiştir. Farklı dönemlerde dergi tarzlarının gelişiminde rolü olan illüstratörlerin sanatı analiz edilmiş; gösterilen aşamaların hepsinde Rus resim sanatının okulunu kurmuş sanatçıların yaratıcılığı hakkında, illüstrasyonları ile beraber, bilgi verilmiştir. Araştırmada sanat ve tarihi-sosyolojisi analiz yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Rus Dergi illüstrasyonunun grafik tasarım etkinliğinin temel bir parçası olarak gelişmesi, toplumun sosyal-kültürel gereksinimleri bağlamında ve tarihi-sanatsal ortamda incelenmiştir. Araştırma sırasında 18-20. yüzyıllarda Rusya dergilerinde sunulan çizimler içerik, sanatsal form ve işlevsel açıdan incelenmiştir. Anahtar kelimeler: Rus illüstrasyonu, 18. yüzyıl, 19. yüzyıl, 20. Yüzyıl This thesis is the first attempt to lay down the history of Russian illustration within its stages of development. The study period is from the Renaissance of Russian periodical illustrations in 18th Century, until the 20th Century (namely 1980s.) This period is divided into three stages: first, the Depiction – Tone Stage (18th century); second, the Colored Illustrations Stage (19th century); and finally, the third, Photomechanical Stage (from the 20th century onwards until the end of 1970s). Within this scope, this Master's Degree Thesis explores the types of Russian periodical illustrations, investigates the characteristics of illustrations according to each specific period, analyses the art of the specific illustrators who contributed to the style of these periodicals, and presents detailed information on the creative aspects of the artists who gradually built the Russian school of illustration art in the specified stages of development, along with their illustrations. This study employs the methodologies of art and sociology of art history. Therefore, in this study, the development of periodical illustrations as the fundamental part of graphic-design activity in Russia is analyzed within context of the socio-cultural requirements of the Russian society and interacting historic-art medium. Within this framework, this thesis explores the illustrations in periodicals of Russia between the 18th century and 20th century according to their content, artistic form and function.
