An Experimental Proposal to the Logogram Design as Function of Typographic Design Process

Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to bring an up-to-date interpretation and suggestion to the scope of the analysis system obtained as a result of the semiotic analysis of the evolution of logograms as typographic units in writing systems using the Latin alphabet in the historical process and their functions as a glyph. As a result of the project implementation, a series of alternative logograms have been proposed in addition to the current logograms working within the phonetic writing system used today.

Bu tezin amacı Latin alfabesinin kullanıldığı yazı sistemlerinde tipografik birimler olarak bulunan logogramların tarihsel süreç içerisindeki evrimleri ve bir glif olarak işlevlerinin göstergebilimsel olarak incelenmesi sonucunda elde edilen analiz sistemi kapsamına güncel bir yorum ve öneri getirmektir. Proje uygulaması sonucunda günümüzde kullanılan fonetik yazı sistemi bünyesinde çalışmakta olan güncel logogramlara ek olarak bir dizi alternatif logogram önerileri getirilmiştir.
