The starting point of academic entrepreneurship is the commercialization of research results and the creation of economic and social benefits through the knowledge and experience of scientists during their careers. The concept of entrepreneurial university, which emerged as a result of the harmonization of economic development with the teaching and research mission of universities, forms the basis of the concept of academic entrepreneurship. This study explores the academic entrepreneurial intention and entrepreneurial orientation of academic staff, as well as the effects of academic staff on career motivation and career success. The data of the study was collected by an online questionnaire which was conducted with 81 of 1425 academic staff working in faculties of Dokuz Eylül University, between November 2017 and February 2018. Statistical analyses included: descriptive statistical techniques, reliability analysis, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, multiple regression analysis, pearson correlation analysis, scheffe multiple comparison test. This thesis contributes to academic entrepreneurship research by shedding light on the relationship between academic intention and orientation, and the motivation and success of career.
