    Cumhuriyet ile Yaşıt Bir Kültürel Miras: Tarihi Tire Bandosu

    Tire Bandosu 1923 yılında Tire’de kurulmuş Cumhuriyet tarihinin ilk bandolarından birisidir. Yüzüncü yaşını doldurmuş olan bando her cuma akşamüstü bayrak töreni için Tire meydanında çalmakta resmi bayramlarda ve törenlerde görevlerini yerine getirmektedir. 1923 yılında kurtuluş savaşı sonunda Yunan işgali biter. Tire’deki işgal kuvvetleri hızlı bir şekilde kaçarken kendilerine ait bando enstrümanlarını askeri karargâh olarak kullandıkları Kurtuluş okulda bırakıp giderler. Savaştan yeni dönmüş olan Tireli Ali Başargan İngiliz esiriyken Mısır’da askeri bandoda müzik eğitimi almış olduğundan bu enstrümanları bulduklarında Tire’de bando kurmaya karar verir. Enstrümanları çalmayı bilen üç savaş gazisi Tireli Ali Başargan Demirci Mehmet Çavuş ve Berber Mehmet Ali Efendi bu şekilde bandoyu kurarlar ve ardından birçok kişiyi bandoya dahil ederler. Tire Bandosu kuruluş yılının öneminin yanında Atatürk'ün 1937'de Nazilli Basma Fabrikası'nı ziyareti sırasında kendisini karşılaması ve 1925’den 1943 yılına kadar her 9 Eylül’de İzmir’in kurtuluşu kutlamalarında görev alması ile tarihi bir değere sahiptir. Ağırlıklı olarak Tire'de yaşayan ve farklı meslek gruplarına ait çalışanlardan bununla birlikte askeri bandodan emekli olmuş profesyonellerden de oluşan Tire Bandosu Tire Belediyesinin desteği ile halen aktif bir şekilde hayatına devam etmektedir. Kuruluşunun ilk yıllarından bugüne kadar bandoda yer alan amatör ve profesyonel müzisyenlerin birlikte çalmalarının getirdiği sosyal kültürel manevi değerler aidiyet duygusu kimlik arayışı gibi olguların incelenmesi bu makalenin temel hedefleri arasında yer almaktadır. Bunların yanında Tire Bandosu'nun yıllar içinde devamının nasıl sağlandığı sürekliliğin nasıl oluştuğu ve bunu bir arada tutan sosyolojik faktörlerin neler olduğu da bu araştırmanın önemli bir parçasını oluşturmaktadır. Bu makale betimsel analiz yöntemiyle yazılan detaylı sözlü ve yazılı tarihi kaynaklara ulaşarak bilginin yayılmasını amaçlamaktadır.

    1950'lerden günümüze Yeşilçam afişlerinin grafik incelemesi

    Sinema, toplum yaşamının aynası gibidir. Başlangıçta eğlence aracı olarak icra edilen sinema 50'li yıllardan itibaren daha toplumsal konulara eğilmeye başlamış ve Türk Sineması olgusu oluşmaya başlamıştır. Sinema sektörü geliştikçe insanların beklentisi çoğaldı, film değer kazandı ve bu gelişmelere paralel olarak da sinema afişleri daha önemli bir yere taşındı. Bu çalışmada sinema afişleri incelenirken, toplum sorunlarını değişik bir kişilikle işleyerek, filmlerinin izlenmesini sağlayan ve toplumun daha iyi bir şekilde bilinçlenmesine önemli katkıda bulunan, akademik kariyeriyle de biraz daha öne çıkan Kemal Sunal ve filmleri ile afişleri daha çok işlenmiştir. Tarihsel gelişimi ve Türk sinema afişlerinin gelişimi içerisinde, bu çalışmada sinema afişlerinin yapılış teknikleri, film konularıyla ilişkisi, halka hitap ediş şekli, grafik tasarım anlayışı irdelenmiştir ve sonuç olarak, sinema afişlerinin genel olarak toplum yaşamını yansıttığı, onlara mesajlar verdiği, Türk sinemasının toplum yaşamını yönlendirmede etkili olduğu görülmüştür.     Bağımsız grafik romanda queer eylem

    The term graphic novel can be considered as being relatively new. Graphic novel is more satisfying in terms of content which includes social issues, autobiographical stories. Besides, just like in novels; graphic novel is a single work that examines the subject and connects it to a certain conclusion. These are the strong parts of graphic novel supporting the comics' reputation. Despite there are many articles, reports and publications about queer theory; there is almost no examination of queer in visual arts, especially in graphic novel. Therefore, this thesis will study queer performance starting from comixes, which was created as a result of the 60s' counterculture and fed by the formation of this culture, to graphic novels. Sexual identities and roles will be examined in comixes which are not considered among the mainstream comics, but considered as underground. In this context, under the leadership of underground comixes, graphic novels to start to examine these issues, the research on how the investigation takes place and striking examples of the queer action was examined and then; In the research part, graphic novelist one of good and a valuable example; Alison Bechdel's Fun Home and Are You My Mother? graphic novels were analyzed and their performativity was examined.

    Harf Devrimi'nden sonra tipografinin gösterdiği değişim

    The common acceptance the Latin Alphabet after the foundation of the Republic of Turkey and replacing Arabic letters used for centuries, is an extremely important process in the development of graphic design in Turkey. The period starting from the Proclamation of the Republic to the 1970's is the beginning stage during the understanding of this new writing system. The first part of the study presents the advancements and developments in typography from invention of printing in the West. In the second part of the study, the main interest area of typographic language dealing with the innovative products of 1930's and those of current designers in recent typography is given. Due to the strong West dependency of the evolution of typographic language in the area of graphic design in Turkey, the investigation was carried out in the perspective of the West. In 19th century typography many different tendencies were observed simultaneously due to the effect of technology and the resulting social variations. In this thesis, an investigation of the typographic language from the adoption of the new Turkish Alphabet to present was aimed. The study presents the iconic tendency of the current typographic language in the West dependent on the new technologies and the structure of reading, whereas in Turkey, the typographic language in graphic design advances with the increasing number of communication tools and opportunities reached at a level competing with the world, and getting the name of Visual Communication Design due to the interaction with the communication opportunities.
