Abstract

Web 2.0 olarak adlandırılan teknolojik gelişmelerin etkisiyle internet üzerindeki iletişim, tek yönlü olmaktan çıkarak etkileşimli ve hızlı bir hale dönüşmüştür. Bu dönüşüm her alanda olduğu gibi gazetecilik mesleğinde de etkisini göstermektedir. Sosyal medya ile birlikte önem kazanan kullanıcı içerikleri, gazeteciler açısından da önemli bir kaynak oluşturmaktadır. Gazeteciler sosyal ağlar üzerinden bilgi ve içeriklere kolayca ulaşarak haber üretebilmekte ve haberlerini geniş kitlelere ulaştırabilmektedirler. Bunun yanında sosyal ağları kullanan gazeteciler artık daha esnek çalışmaktadırlar. Bu bakımdan sosyal ağların haber üretim pratiklerine katkı sağladığı ifade edilebilir. Bu çalışmada gazetecilerin sosyal medyayı kullanım pratiklerinin, haber üretim sürecine olan etkisini, İzmir ilindeki gazetecilerin bu ağları kullanım pratikleri ile birlikte ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Bu kapsamda 16 gazeteci ile derinlemesine görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, İzmirli gazetecilerin önemli bir kısmının haber üretim sürecinde sosyal ağlardan faydalandığı görülmüştür. Bu doğrultuda gazetecilerin, en çok bilgi, fotoğraf, görüntü gibi verileri sağlamak amacıyla sosyal ağlardan faydalandıkları tespit edilmiştir. Sosyal ağlardaki bilgi kirliliği ve manipülasyonun ise gazeteciler açısından büyük sıkıntılara neden olabildiği belirlenmiştir. This transformation shows its impact in the journalistic profession as in all fields. User contents which came into prominence with social media, constitute an important resource for journalists. Owing to access information and contents through social networks, journalists are able to produce news easily and make their news available to large audience. In addition, journalists who use social networks are now more flexible. In this respect, it can be stated that social networks contribute to news production practices. In this study, it is aimed to explain the effect of journalists ' practices of using social media on the news production process, along with the practices of journalists in Izmir province of using these networks. In this context, in-depth interviews were conducted with 16 journalists. As a result of the research, it was observed that a significant number of journalists from Izmir benefited from social networks during the news production process. In this respect, journalists have been found to benefit from social networks to provide the most information, photos and images. It has been determined that information pollution and manipulation in social networks can cause great problems for journalists.
