Abstract
Stress which can be constructive in a certain degree becomes a problem that threatens the physiological and psychological health of individuals depending on the increasing competitiveness in the organizations. Although the literature provides a significant knowledge on the antecedents and consequences of organizational stress there is no sufficient information about what employees expect from their management when coping with stress. In order to fill this void this study first reviews the organizational strategies in the literature and then the employees' expectations from their management during this process were analyzed on a sample of 42 whitecollar female and male workers in a manufacturing firm in Izmir Ataturk Organize Sanayi Bolgesi (IAOSB) with following a semi-structured interview methodology. The results of study reveal that employees expect strategies regarding with their job identification reducing the level of conflict implementation of a fair payment policy etc.
